Cake Bake

It’s time for the Cub Scout Cake Bake! The Cake Bake is a Cub Scout tradition that made its return in 2023 after a 5 year break due to COVID and other circumstances.  Each boy is asked to bake and decorate a cake. This year, the cakes will be judged at the January Pack meeting. 

Cake Bake Rules


1.  This is a scout project. The fun is in baking and decorating, so let them take the lead on this. Have your scout bake with whomever in the home is the least experienced in the kitchen. The idea is to make this a fun experience for the family.

 

2.  The cake theme this year is "Pirates" in honor of the Pirates theme of Camp Mack this coming summer.  Be creative and have fun!  The ideas are endless!  You can easily google “pirate cake ideas” to help get your creative juices flowing. 

 

3.  No store-bought cakes are permitted. Scouts (and assisting family member) must bake the cake, but cake mixes are fine. Don’t worry…the cakes are judged on design creativity, not taste! ☺

 

4.  Each Scout will get to vote for 2 cakes - favorite cake in their Den and favorite cake in the Pack.


 

Families are invited to come join the fun! Cakes should be brought for the “cake bake” by 6:30pm on January 30th. Judging and voting will begin promptly at 6:45, and the pack meeting will begin promptly at 7pm.  Cakes arriving after 6:40pm will still be displayed and served but will not be part of the competition.  Cakes will be cut and served during the meeting.  Winners and prizes will be announced at the end of the Pack meeting.


**ALL SCOUTS/FAMILIES should RSVP using the link below by January 26th.  We will need parents to help set up (tables, chairs, etc), cut and serve the cakes during the meeting, and clean up.  Please use the link to RSVP and sign up to help.  (This will allow us to properly prepare and set up for the event.)
