2017 Family Camp and Breakfast Hike

What

The Horse-Shoe Trail District will once again be hosting a Cub Scout Family Camp and Breakfast Hike.  The theme for this year’s event will be “Backyard Adventures”.  

Scouts and their families will have a great time participating in fun backyard adventures packed into three different trails. You and your Scout will be able to try your hand at

Yard Jenga

Yard Yahtzee

Identifying trees and birds

A scavenger hunt

A spiderweb challenge

And many other fun activities

BB and Archery are reserved for Youth age 6 and up.

You have the option to camp Friday night or just come up Saturday morning.   For those camping Friday night a short campfire program and cracker barrel snack will be provided.  Please bring some water or something to drink to have with the cracker barrel.  Breakfast for everyone will be served Saturday morning at 7:30 am.

Where

Camp Mack 2 Scout Ln, Newmanstown

Friday Dinner

Dinner will not be provided for this event.

Time

Check in on Friday if you are camping over is at 6 pm.  Check in for Saturday only is 7:30 am.  We will be done around noon on Saturday. 

Cost

Registration is $10 per person for the Family Camp Sleepover on Friday night AND/OR the Breakfast Hike on Saturday.


1. Here is a short list of stuff you should think about bring with you:

Tent

Tarp for under tent (recommended not required)

Sleeping Bag

Bed Roll (recommended not required)

Bug spray

Water Bottle (required)

Flashlight or headlamp (and extra batteries)

Appropriate clothes including sweatshirt or jacket for a cool evening

Rain gear (Rain coat or Poncho)

Good hiking boots or shoes (no open toed shoes for hiking around camp)

Toiletries

  • Toothbrush

  • Toothpaste

  • Wash cloth

  • Soap

  • Deodorant
