Memorial Day Parade

May 29, 2017

10:00 - 10:15 AM        Meet on sidewalk between Tim’s Gym and Wilbur Chocolate (on Warwick St.) - Park in the Lot on Warwick St. - Click Here for Satellite Map

10:45 AM        Parade begins on West Lincoln Ave. (Parade forms on Warwick Street at 10:30 A.M.)

11:00 AM        Memorial Day service at Moravian Cemetery

            UPON ARRIVAL AT CEMETERY

All participants, except children carrying flowers, will proceed to from “Hallow Square” in cemetery.  Children will proceed to Veterans graves, marked by American Flags, and place flowers on graves when the commander makes the following request.

A short service is conducted by the American Legion that includes 21-gun salute, music, and speaker.

The service should conclude between 12:00-12:30PM

Scouts will be dismissed from the cemetery.  

SO, PLEASE BE PREPARED TO MEET YOUR SCOUT AT THE CEMETERY.

Notes:

  • Carnations will be provided for the scouts to place on the graves of fallen soldiers.
  • Attire:  Scouts should be dressed in their Field Uniforms (aka Class A), bring their Hiking Staff and wear comfortable shoes.
  • Family members are welcome to walk with the scouts. 
  • If it looks like it will be hot, please bring a water bottle.
  • The Pack 44 banner and flags will be carried.
  • Bring your Pack 44 Hiking Staff!
  • Dave Hoglund will be the main contact for the event.
